Had a fantastic weekend up at Phelix with these two. Kiera was a champ in the snow! ❄🐾
Happy International Women’s Day! These photos don’t do justice to the amount of awesome women in my life, but it’s a start!

Snow blowing off the ridges of Mamquam mountain illuminated by the rising sun.
With my heavy winter camping bag… At least I was warm!
One of the four tents left standing after a wildly windy night.
Making our way through the windswept snow drifts on Paul Ridge.
Minus 25°C with the wind chill this morning. Brrrrr. On the plus side, the ice crystals blowing through the air made for some neat rainbow effects.

Following the skin track back to camp
I’ve always been a summer person through and through… But I guess with this whole ski touring thing, I’m trying to embrace winter. It’s not hard when you get days like this!
The view across Garibaldi Lake to the Tantalus Range while we were out ski touring this weekend. Peaks from left to right are: Omega, Niobe, Alpha, Serratus, Tantalus, Zenith, and Pelion.
Today was a good day.

Looking down from near the Summit of Bla Bheinn, a mountain on the Isle of Skye. The fringes of the Cuillin Ridge can be seen in the distance. It was such a fascinating landscape to me because of the utter lack of trees - you could see every little craggy outcrop of topography perfectly.
We bivvied out in the open at the base of the mountain and it was a cold night with intermittent sleep. Luckily the excitement of starting a climb always fills me with extra energy. Here’s Mark looking far too cheery at 5 am.
